NR21 "Customer Experience" Tour continues.....

Having just returned from Florida on Monday, it is clear that the sportfishing market has been waiting for the spectacular lines, fit and finish of North Rip Sportfishing Boats!  Thank you, thank you for all the support you have given to us!
We learned that spending just one week in Florida meeting with prospective customers and fulfilling media commitments for test rides proved to be not enough time.  As a result of the continuing desire of people to see and test ride the North Rip, we will be available in Florida on March 7-9, 2011 and then travel to North and South Carolina making the boat available there from March 11-13.  Once again, we’re looking forward to meeting you and giving you the opportunity to climb aboard a North Rip.
The NR 21 is going to be in the Stuart/Palm Beach, Florida area Monday through Wednesday (March 7-9) for viewings and/or test rides.  It will then be available in Charleston, SC on March 10 and 11.  From there we’ll be in North Carolina for March 12 and 13.
We’re showing the boat by appointment only and we’d love to share that personal opportunity with you.  Come visit with us at convenient times and experience up close what everyone is raving about.
Please call us today at 401-247-3000 or email us at info@northripboats.com to schedule your private visit with us in Florida.
Looking forward!

North Rip Quality: When Attention To Detail Counts.

Finding a product in this day and age crafted by skilled tradesmen responsible for building some of the finest boats of the modern era is no easy task.  To build with quality is to build with consistency. After a span of five decades in the boat building and composite industry, Pearson Marine Group prides itself on upholding a long tradition of quality products. The North Rip 21 is a sportfishing boat that leads by example and is re-writing the standards of quality, attention to detail and re-defining the term "fit and finish".

Top loading Anchor locker

To  walk through the North Rip 21 we begin at the foredeck.  Cambered deck surfaces (crowned) are found on the upper and lower decks. Primarily functioning for drainage the cambered decks are also a reminder of classic aesthetics unique to the NR. The foredeck is outfitted with a top loading anchor locker system. All deck hardware on the NR21 is flush mounted.  This includes dual fwd pop up six inch cleats with pop-up Nav light. Further aft on the deck you will find two more spring line pop-up cleats. 1-1/2" Fuel fill with integral vent is located midship on starboard.  On the side deck coamings are four Gem premium rod holders, and aft pop-up cleats.

Forward Deck Hatch Layout
The interior deck sole fwd follows the cambered geometry with three large under deck fish boxes and/or storage compartments. The outboard compartments are oversized and the center compartment is largest in its class with 195 gallon capacity. All three forward compartments are plumbed directly to a high capacity Macerator which pumps directly overboard.  All hatch undersides and under deck surfaces are buffed finished surfaces and not only look great but are easy to clean.

The NR21 Console Unit
Whether it be sitting on the leaning post and resting your feet on the custom kick box,or running hard to the fishing grounds in standing position you will realize that this is where form and function merge. The NR21 console is not only thought out  but its unique shape and design reinforces the fact that attention to detail manifests in the NR product. Its signature custom electrical panel, custom made flush mounted 3/8" smoked acrylic windscreen, Gem premium stainless steel blue water steering wheel, twin over sized stainless steel drink holders w/drainage, custom made high density  foot rest tread and enough real estate to easily fit a Raymarine C-Series widescreen display. You will be hard pressed to find a console that makes more sense than this.

Design Log: North Rip 42 Express Sportfisherman

With the North Rip 29 offshore center console taking shape in our 7-axis robotic mill in Warren, Rhode Island there is no slowing with the development and design of the larger express models in the North Rip portfolio.

The NR42 will take the already masterfully sculpted hull shape into a class of its own. Our express model hull forms embrace the age of hi-tech propulsion systems with their Pod Driven arrangements. Pod Drives have been used in many larger commercial vessels and are becoming more mainstream as the recreational industry realizes its advantages and efficiencies. Especially in the sportfishing arena.

The success of the Pod Drive is due in part to several advantages over the conventional shaft driven arrangement. Exceptional Maneuverability, lower noise generation, major layout flexibility with location of sub-cockpit drive placement, substantial reduction in exhaust smoke as exhaust exits drive unit beneath boat, electronic steering and shifting, corrosion resistance and maintenance is easier in some respects.

The North Rip expresses are built for speed and efficiency which translates to fishability. North Rip hulls exhibit a synergy in their ride that makes the boat enjoyable to run, validating the choice of Pod drives in this design.

Interior layouts are unique in their own sense as a not-typical aft stateroom is easily achieved on the NR42 with the engine and drive aft freeing up aft space. With headroom of 5'9" and two generous 78" x 42" bunks the aft stateroom is a great addition to an express battlewagon.

The NR42 standard layout will sleep six with its guest cabin and guest head arrangement. The secondary optional layout is suited more for couples and opens the main salon with a large settee in place of the guest head. Relocating the galley to the starboard lends itself to  large counters, storage cabinets, cutting boards and an overall great working space. Both layouts boast a master stateroom with a queen bed, dedicated private head with a generous walk in shower unit.

Of course, North Rip will entertain custom layouts and is dedicated to the vision of its customers.  We welcome your input and the "build" your boat approach.

Please contact us  with any questions or thoughts on the North Rip Express models to come.
